The Trail Community is a place for real people sharing real trip reports. Keep it honest, helpful and family-friendly, and it stays a place worth coming back to.
Who can join
- Members must be 18 or older.
- One account per person. Use your real first name or the name people know you by.
What to post
- Your own hikes, waterfalls, campsites and trips in North Carolina.
- Your own photos and videos, or ones you have permission to share.
- Honest conditions: muddy, icy, closed or crowded helps the next person.
- YouTube links to your own videos are welcome. That’s how we find creators for GEN7 Outdoors TV.
Not allowed
- Insults, harassment, profanity, politics fights, or anything you wouldn’t say in front of a family.
- Spam, ads, selling, or links to unrelated sites.
- Other people’s photos or videos posted as your own.
- Encouraging unsafe or illegal behavior: climbing on waterfalls, going past closures, off-trail shortcuts.
- Other people’s private property or exact locations of someone’s home.
How posting works
- Your first 3 trip reports are checked by our team before they go live. After that you post instantly.
- We may remove anything that breaks these rules, and suspend accounts that keep breaking them.
- You own your photos and videos. By posting, you let NC Hiking Life show them on this site, in our newsletter and on our social pages, always with credit to you.
- You can edit or delete your posts, or delete your whole account, any time from your account page.
